Beneath the snow is the wood and stone and spring shoots.

It continues to snow on and off but I was encouraged yesterday as the sun was shining, the snow had started to melt and I could see the garden clearly.  I got out and did some tidying up and found little shoots from spring bulbs which made me smile. Today, however, they're covered in a new layer of white but at least I know they're there.

All this snowy weather has meant lots of crafty afternoons in my basement.  After collecting this publicity flyer at Creativa the other week, I wanted to use it as inspiration in my smash book. I love the colour, the triangles and the phrase "between the wood and stone".  I took some snippets of papers by Sarah Hurley along with a couple of her Documented tickets and in a little bag of bits she sent me I had a chipboard triangle and a piece of sticky plastic in wood grain.  Originally I did wonder what I'd do with the sticky plastic but while creating this page I just knew it would be perfect.  I have an extended cuts by Sizzix called Trees and once I'd cut out the tree border I wanted to carry on cutting out shapes in sticky plastic.  I even used the off cuts on the page.

Here's a closer look at the pages.

You can still download the Sizzix free Valentine papers here.
